That's amazing.
I think it kind of looks like shit. And if those are popular interests, why isn't sex on the list? ;-)

"laughing" was also cut I hear, despite being popular.
Couldn't you put the missing tags in, being in charge of LiveJournal and all?

I'm not in charge.
You should combine the two and start off an incredible snowboarding revolution.
I can't think of anything more soul-crushing than a flood of weeping snowboarders with bad haircuts.
It also goes off the side of the window if you're like me and have windows that are somewhere between 800x600 and 1024x768.
The next step should be to only allow certain interests-- get rid of the text box altogether. Also, all users who have not previously specified their interest in "furries" will be updated to include that by default. It can be disabled through the profile after the switch goes live. ;)

I joined!
Now you made me change my interests so I don't have any of those extra popular ones.

I weep.
Start another company. :P
Yeah, and no pre-checked "cheese" tickybox!
This is now styled better.
Style is much better now.
I got confused when the checkbox JS didn't insert the items in alphabetical order, though.
I am interested in "internet"
I enjoy interneting as well. asl?
smells like feature creep to me, although something that presents a list of [active] communities that have a high ratio of matching interetsts to a user would be much more handy and fit in with the whol social aspect of the site (although would probably require too much computation, so nm).
Huzzah. I figured you'd want to encourage people to enter not-as-popular interests and not grow the already unsearchable ones :(
If people choose from popular interests, you can target ads at them.
Let the LiveJournal Popular Interests Bombing begin!
cheese *should* get a ck box.

+1
I require cheese.
Glaring omission:
[ ] self-cutting
i think it'd be more fun if instead of the most popular interests, it showed a random 10 of the 1000 *least* popular interests.
so- you could have a checkbox for "your mom's farts" and "bbq pickles" or something.
But then we'd get whingers being all, "THIS PERSON STOLE MY UNLINKED INTEREST :( :("
Why every single item has it's own copy-pasted javascript code?

Lack of code review process.
What in the world is even the use of having a list of "popular interests?" To make searching on interests even less useful?

What would be clever is a tag weight that delivers interests that might be remotely related. Or maybe even top 10 of people that share similar ones to you or that are within your friend realms.
Kind of like adsense for interests... |
