This article reminds me of the beginning of Inherit the Stars, one of my favorite books. I love it when then-futuristic technology becomes just, uh... not futuristic. :-)

oh mi god I read that book a looooong ass time ago. I must have been like 10 or so.

and then foolishly dated someone with the same name. Maybe my subconscious was manipulated by that :-)
