Style contest ... almost [Jun. 28th, 2000|12:48 am]
Brad Fitzpatrick
I was about to type up the official LiveJournal layout style & color theme contest when I realized how much style stuff I haven't really completed ... so now I'm cleaning up and adding a bunch of stuff. Don't worry --- I'm not breaking anybody's styles, there are just better ways to do things now.

Thank you : )

Dear Brad,

Thank you for your kindness in reading and posting on my journal today. I guess you probably know I had a really bad day. One of the best aspects of this process of journaling live is being able to share it wiht people and ahve them be kind enough to come by and say something. I know how busy people are and it always means so much to me when people take the time and say anything kind.

I also wanted to run a few questions by you, but if you don't have a lot of time, and I kind of don't think you do, then don't worry about it, I'll find the answers myself.

Okay so first I have to tell you how much more I like the little spiral binder divider on the comments page. I don't know if it defaults anywhere else but I have it here and I think it is so pretty, and am totally relieved now because I didn't dig the last design at all and didn't have the heart to whine about it after everything you've done for all of us. I was so used to the previous style and it threw me to have it change. Now I'm happy wiht this one. I kind of like the idea of using traditional paper backgrounds for a journal. I wonder if we could have a lined legal pad background or lined binder paper. I don't think it would matter if he type didn't line up with the lines.

Okay also I've been thinkig it would be great to add a chatroom of IRC channel for livejournal. That way people can come by and hang out with eachother in live time and trade help and ideas. Of course this means someone would ahve to want to do the work of it and I know you're swamped and I don't have the know how.

Also I wanted to know if when someone posts something anonymously to a journal if they can get the threads via email as well. i've never posted anonymously so i don't know how it works. I'm thinking of banning anonymous posters because all they do is upset and hurt me. I mean why allow people to come by and be mean? Except I've been wondering if people who are not livejournal users can post but are automatically categorized as anonymous. I guess I'll go fiddle around wiht this and try to figure it out myself and not be such a query baby.

I'm so tired and beat down today. Normally I'm a pretty chirpy happy person jelly bean love child. But today I feel so fucking blue.

I love you though, you are my journal God. Have you noticed how wonderful some of the writing is here? I stumbled across the best journal the other day, I bookmarked it but can't remember his name offhand but God his writing, oh man it was food for the mind to me.

Love you Mr. Brad even though it blows me away that you are so much younger than I am,
Jacqui
XOXOXOXO

I disagree. Even though I do like the "feel" of the lines, they interfere with the eyes' ability to scan text quickly, precisely because they don't (nor can) line up with the text.

Brad - if you are interested please talk to either myself or cryo about having you use our IRC network (Warpednet)if you' like. Go check out chat.warped.net for an idea of how we can get this going. We can create a channel and the necessary bot, etc.

If you have any questions, email or post away... :-)

But actually, I'm already running my own IRC network on bradfitz.com ..... just been awhile since I used it.
