Iowa, day ??

Still in Iowa. Time is frozen. I never know what day it is. Observations for the day:
  • People don't often lock their cars or houses. People often leave their keys in their car.
  • There are lots of fireflies here. I've never seen fireflies elsewhere.
  • I now know where the term "clotheslined" comes from. Many people here dry their clothes from metal lines hanging in their yard, hung at neck height. Play baseball in the backyard and run for a ball ... BOOM! I said, "Watch out, Ryan ... don't want to get clotheslined." Then I think .. "oh shit ... clotheslined. That makes more sense." I mean, I guess I'd just never thought about it, growing up in rainy-land where nobody uses clotheslines.
Not much excitement today. Ate at Bob's. Went to Walmart: bought a new sexy portable CD player (haven't bought a new one since my very first 1st-generation one, when Sony first introduced them ... didn't have skip protection or anything). Enjoying that. Met a bunch of 2nd and 3rd cousins that I'd never met before on my dad's side. Ryan and Cole are now here and they're being annoying and invading my basement area. *sigh*
