Brad Fitzpatrick
just had another house meeting ... always so fun. an hour to decide one or two simple things. always comedic, though .... I enjoy them.

Re:

Never in my life have I had Iced Tea. I never even heard of it until I started reading peoples LiveJournal (especially Brads). So ... the eternal question is: How does one make Iced Tea?

Tsk, and I call myself an Englishman. (Note, I drink normal hot tea all the time so I am an Englishman.)

Re:

Not only does it have to be on ice, but since i am from the south it has to have loads of sugar in it also.

Don't listen!

Don't listen to the heathens who put sugar in their iced tea. ;) Also, since we've already frightened you, have you ever heard of *instant* iced tea? It's these little brown granules that you put into regular old water and stir 'em around. When enough of 'em dissolve you get iced tea.

There's a new "cold brew" iced tea out where you use tea bags instead of instant granules. It's an improvement. :D

Red Rose tea bags... no sugar...

that's that way to go.

Don't listen! to her saying don't listen!

Hey now,

I am not a huge admirer of the south, but one thing they do right is...sweet tea! I can stand it unsweetened, but you just haven't lived until you've had a tall icy glass of good ol' southern sweet tea. The secret is...use SUGAR, not processed high fructose corn syrup *retch*, and...put the sugar in while the tea is hot! If you do it after it's on ice, like most of the rest of the country (and the world perhaps), you get a pile of disgusting crystals on the bottom of your glass. It's no wonder people don't like it.

Don't knock it til you've tried it. A good sweet tea is a beautiful thang. :0)

So what ever happened to the 5251 Account? A dying idea? :)

Re:

Good idea... bad implementation. 5251 differs from other news accounts in that entries should go both in it and in the user's personal journals, more often.

I'm coming up with a whole new idea --- like personal topic directories.

would that be similar to a friend's page, except that it is it's own account? seems like an interesting concept.

Re:

Remember my suggestion of a list of users whose most recent entries could be viewed using any nominated friends style? That's the sort of thing I meant that for :)

Just in case you don't remember, and for those who aren't Brad (which I'm guessing is a significant number of people!)...
/something.blah?users=martmart+bradfitz+blythe+ibrad&styleid=8495

Guess what that would do? :)

House Meeting

This is probably a daft question - but do people who go to the same "campus" (I believe that's the American for it) as you say "hey, it's that Brad bloke off the Internet!"? Are you some kind of local celebrity? Do people gasp in awe as you walk down the halls and stuff?

I know I would. :o)

Re: campus

There are only a few hundred LiveJournal users in this area, and most of them already know Brad.

Re: House Meeting

Not a daft question.

He got that reaction a few times when he flew out here (a few thousand miles away), but ironically, it was his association with FreeVote.com that caught people's attention.
