I voted! [Nov. 7th, 2000|06:05 pm]
Brad Fitzpatrick
I got my vote in! I took my Oregon absentee ballot into a Washington polling station on Eli's advice, and to my surprise they were able to take it. I'm very impressed how organized they were there. Anyway, I'm happy now.

While I'm happy, I'm going to list other things that are making me happy --- Eazel, Helixcode, Mozilla. Between those three organizations, Linux is quickly starting to kick some serious ass. All of their respective applications are slow and buggy as hell, but they show so much promise I can't help but smile when I use them. Mozilla's getting pretty quick, too. Eazel's Nautilus is so innovative it's scary. Helixcode's Evolution is everything I want in a mali client.

If only Abiword and OpenOffice didn't suck. Oh well ... the Wine project is making tremendous progress lately too. Go Linux!

you know how they say unix is user friendly, it's just picky about who it's friends are? I guess I still need to gain it's trust. :)

and you might want to look into vmware, it's a really great way to run all those windoze programs you need. and it's only a hundred bucks, not bad for the stellar performance it gives too.

I have 3 computers... two with Linux, and a really fast one with Windows. My personal linux box and Win2k box sit side by side, with matching 19" monitors.

No need for vmware. :)
