Awake and awake! [Nov. 12th, 2000|11:36 am]
Brad Fitzpatrick
There are two types of awake ... 1) being not asleep, and 2) having energy. I am now both awake and awake. It feels so weird.

I'm not sure why ... I went to bed at 4:30am after reading 180 pages of Michael Crichton's Timeline and only got 7 hours of sleep. That's a damn good book... I look forward to finishing it. Quantum technology is fascinating. Crichton's attention to detail and facts is wonderful, as always.

I'm going to head back up to Seattle about 1:00pm.

I find that letting the sun wake me up is incredibly refreshing.

Re: sleep

In Seattle, sunlight is a soft white, because it is always filtered through clouds.
They don't protect you from sunburn, but it does help you wake up sooner.

wakeup blues

Back when I was JUST a bartender, it was nice... I could sleep till I felt like getting up.

Now I have a day job, so I have to make myself get up monday thru friday... then I bartend on friday and saturday and have to stay up past my bedtime. Needless to say, my sleep on friday and saturday nights is abysmal. I always wake up before I need to. I have a hard time just LAYING there and relaxing. Plus this morning I feel like I've been beaten with a large blunt object.

I love the money, but jeez I wish I was only a bartender again.

I had the same thing this morning... after like 6 hours of shitty sleep on the floor, at that.

I think the key is:
A) Not having an alarm clock wake you up.
B) Not having to go to fucking classes.

I loved that book, it was incredible and way too absorbing. I finally got to the point where I couldn't put it down. I won't give away the ending, I just want to say it is well worth the wait.
