I hate noise. [Nov. 16th, 2000|10:49 pm]
Brad Fitzpatrick
[Current Music |Green Day - Chump]

My earlier dartboard rant was but part of a larger realization I just had:

I hate all unnatural noise.

Sounds I hate: people talking, dartboards, people walking around upstairs, cars, groups of people, crowds, sporting events, etc...

Sounds I like: rain, wind, animals. That's it.

Music is good, too, but that's highly dependent on my mood. Right now I'm working on a few projects, one of which requires a ton of concentration. I want to sit around and just think. I can't think with music, and I can't think with a crowd outside my door playing darts.

I put on headphones, but that only adds to the noise. I can still hear the darts and loud voices over the music.

*sigh* 9.5 more months of living here. After that, my Montana plan is sounding better and better. I just want to be alone, undisturbed.

Re:

people are out!!!

we (and anyone who comes with, but not many) will have to have ground rules for keeping distance amongst ourselves as well, we don't want to start the same mistake though it would SEEM safe at first...we'll meet once a week to make sure of one another's health condition, technological advances(wooden huts, fireplaces, etc). maybe occasionally exchange food, but they will never get out of control

Noise

LOL...Animals? Dude, where the hell did that come from. What Animal sounds do you like. Dogs continually parking, roosters crowing, pigs snorting, cows mooing? Rain and wind I can accept, but Animals...WTF.

A few flaws with your Montana plan. They don't have unlimitied speed limits, the whole fucking state burnt down, whittle has an 'h' in it, there's just a bunch of small hick towns.

Alone and undistrubed...sure, maybe for awhile, but you'll realize you'll want somebody outside your door playing darts sooner or later.

Fiji: I picked up a hitchiker on the way out of Yosemite Park, he'd travled all around the world and said that the people in Fiji have the right mentality for life. I want to go. Let's go over spring break....starting tomorrow.

Re: Fiji

Yeah totally. I think that'd be a good location for SB. It probably won't have the party atmosphere that mexico would...but it'll still be fucking cool. Really relaxing, probably more tropical too. Warmer water, blue.

Re: Fiji

If you like this sort of thing, the snorkelling in Fiji is some of the best in the ENTIRE world. Amazing, tropical fish and the clearest, bluest water you've ever seen (or NOT seen).

Sound I like

I like the sound of a thunderstorm. In Singapore, we have about 1 thunderstorm every 3 days. However, during this period of the year, we get it daily. Nice sound :)

Noise-a-phobia (or sonophobia?)

I thought I was the only noise-a-phobe (anti-noise-ite? silence advocate?). I was close to freaking out today because of all these little, intrusive noises at work. No privacy whatsoever at my office. Montana sounds WAY cool. The solution to the isolation problem is simple- personal helipad!
