why computers suck

here's one of my deep thoughts for the day: computers and computing in general suck because there's not enough meta-data to search and use..... I want to tell my computer (verbally, ideally), "Hey, I want to hear some up-beat music with trumpets." Then my computer's supposed to play some Reel Big Fish, Save Ferris, or Big Bad Voodoo Daddies.

The problem is that people generating songs don't want to classify all the meta-data .... I mean, consider the average person ripping a CD and making mp3s ... they don't even bother to fill in the ID3 tag ... would you expect them to enter all the instruments and artists? of course not. this may all be solved by MusicBrainz.org, but in general more meta-data is needed.... you can't have smart "agents" without it. spend a million dollars making the prettiest paper clip, but it won't ever be useful until it can actually help you.
