you have smp on your personal box?
no, i accidentally built an SMP kernel. ;)
shouldnt the servers be installed this week?
that's why I got to get this damn kernel upgrade done before thursday or friday. so far it's seeming pretty easy....
want to get reiserfs on there too, though.... never done that before.
beware. reiserfs is not a happy match with linux.
alan (as in alan cox) hates reiser with a passion and therefore any updates will be slow to be incorporated.
Brad, have you considered FreeBSD instead? More robust as a server OS, easy install, easy configuration, more stable as a server, etc. I am just wondering; I choose it over Linux as a server OS.
yeah, i'm actually kinda leaning towards that.... i haven't used freebsd since 2.2.6 ... old. i keep reading about how much ass it kicks, and jag and phunkgrrl both seem to love it....
i think we're going to install it and see how it goes.

add me to the list that uses fbsd. also, you may want to look at things like openbsd if you chose to migrate to the bsd world... it is a definite competitor.
one issue you will obviously encounter is SMP support... or the lack thereof in obsd.
