Disturbing [Jan. 16th, 2001|11:54 am]
Brad Fitzpatrick
Read this interview with Dubya. Even ignoring how poorly he speaks (most disturbingly, starting the majority of his sentences with the word "And"), read how arrogant he his about his new position:

Tom Brokaw: And some forms of — birth control even. What if he appoints a Solicitor General who will make the case of the government before the U.S. Supreme Court who shares his feelings, would that make you unhappy?
George W. Bush: But you understand who’s the president? He understands who — who’s going to occupy the chair in the Oval Office. John’s a team player when it comes to that.

...

Tom Brokaw: President Clinton is going out of office with an approval rate of 64 percent, higher than Ronald Reagan or any other outgoing president in modern memory. That says the country likes what he’s been doing.
George W. Bush: Well, maybe so, but he’s not going to be the president on January 20. I am.

Huh??? That stuff happens every day. Clinton just happened to get outed by some hussy wanting money because she didn't get a high power position. Now I bet `ol Dick down the road has done the same thing but noone said a word :D

It takes two to tango. It's both of their faults. Neither having more blame than the other. Monica got on her knees, and Bill let it happen.

Because in my eyes that's what it was, and right before an election to boot. She `did` get her money BTW. As for Clinton, the creep as you say, well I haven't seen this country more prosperous in a very long time. I guess his track record speaks for itself. As they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I don't care what anyone says, the man has been a hell of a President regardless of his few shortfalls. I'm getting political here, but another 8 under Clinton might have made America what she's supposed to be, united and free without regard to race nor religion, where the NRA would be put in it's place and a strict waiting period was imposed, where a woman would have the right to choose because it's `her` life not yours, where some young kid wouldn't die because of sexual orientation or color, where a black man can sit with a white man and have a genuinely good time, talking about the good old days when the races put aside their differences and became one, where one day we would all be one nation spanning a multitude of people, yet united. Maybe I shouldn't have said this at all, but it's my wish that one day this will be a reality. Something I truly do not see happening under Bush.
