what to do? [Feb. 23rd, 2001|12:44 pm]
Brad Fitzpatrick
so many things I want to do today:
  • build my new computer
  • go get wood and built a structure to rise my bed up several feet so I have more storage space underneith it. i made plans already... just need to go buy wood and a saw.
  • work on my geography paper. i don't really want to do this, but I'd like to get it done before the evening before it's due.
  • fix livejournal stuff.... this isn't fun at all, but i have to do it sometime
hmmm... i think i'll start by doing my computer, since most the parts have a 7 or 10 day return time.

How far do you want to raise the bed? When I was in school we just threw cinder blocks under each leg of the bed. That gives you some good space.

Re:

I'm thinking about 3 feet... which cinder blocks would be too unstable for.

eek

that's what I did- 24inch riser- with drawer slots ( still need to get the damn drawers done)
too bad my desk took up 1/2of the front area.>:)
might want to build it in front and back sections if you go with something that solid.. I can store a truck on mine- I tend to overbuild :)hehehe

benefit- no squeaks.>:)

Not fun doing livejournal updates? Bummer. I always love updating my website! Just time doesn't permit me to do so. *pout*

That depends on what needs doing. There's a lot of boring stuff that needs to be done to keep LJ running as well as the fun stuff.

Brad needs people to do the boring stuff for him! :) (but that's another story, and another journal)

You're just building the computer first because it's the most fun. Admit it!

Make sure to buy a sufficiently large, insanely expensive power saw. It's always fun to have heavy equipment lying around that you don't really need for anything. Mine makes a great conversation piece.
"Is that a {tablesaw,mitersaw,bandsaw,drill press,scrollsaw,arc welder,nuclear explosive}?"
"Yeah."
"What do you use it for?"
"Er, not a whole hell of a lot, I guess."
"O."
