mozilla fun [Mar. 11th, 2001|02:05 pm]
Brad Fitzpatrick
my computer is lonely while i'm studying so i'm letting it build the lizard. that should keep it busy for hours. i want to play with MathML and SVG, which aren't in nightly builds.

my ~/.mozconfig, for those interested:

ac_add_options --enable-mathml
ac_add_options --enable-svg
ac_add_options --enable-new-cache
ac_add_options --enable-libpr0n
ac_add_options --enable-optimize=-O2
ac_add_options --disable-debug
ac_add_options --enable-strip-libs

this should also test my reiser partition... it was reported on the LKML that mozilla wouldn't build because of reiserfs corruption (but would on the same system on an ext2 partition), but that's supposed to be fixed now. we'll see. ;-)

I found that you need about a gig of space to compile it.

But you've 60gb, eh?

The ReiserFS problems were all related to the "tail packing" code. If you turn that option off, youcan use it fairly safely. I have all bar my /boot partition on reiser, I'm going to make sure I have a backup of anything I value soon, but then, I've lived without a full backup for a few years :)

Scalable Vector Graphics ro><0r j00r s0><0rs.

They are pretty good, too. I was going to install a Mozilla with it compiled in today, but the download corrupted (56k connections are fun) and I couldn't be bothered to try it again. I've only used Macromedia's SVG plugin for IE, which makes them look so much like flash.
