Classics Midterm [Apr. 29th, 2001|03:43 pm]
Brad Fitzpatrick
Trying to study for my classics midterm. Anybody have some old essays I could read? We were given 4 possible essay topics and tomorrow we'll be given 2 of them. Bleh.

Homer, Iliad
Greek Lyric Poetry
Aeschylus, Agamemnon
Sophocles, Oedipus the King
Euripides, Hippolytus
Herodutus -- History
Thucydides -- History
Plato, Symposium

2 of these 4 will be on the midterm.

1. What role does the pursuit of honor and or reputation play in any two works we have read this quarter?

2. How does the relationship between gods and humans differ in the three tragedies read?

3. What is the role of violence in at least three of the works we have read this quarter?

4. Is the character of Socrates treated differently in "The Clouds" than in "Symposium"?

OK, how come that appears in my friends page with "( Read More... )" at the bottom instead of half the text?

Why didn't I have that question?

Oh god, if they put #4 on the test I will be floored with the unfairness of life. Though I think they'll want more than just "yes."
