That's not fair to you.
You ought to be able to say whatever you want in your private journal. Tell all the whiney brats to bugger off.
I wish you wouldn't make an "offensive" list. Be yourself and to hell with all the people who have a problem with what you say.
You should never have revealed your real identity in the first place. Like a superhero. Just identify the creator as Mr. X, and you could just be mild mannered Brad.
I always feel bad commenting in your journal because of the sheer volume of comments you always get...
if i'm already your friend... do i still need to send you an email... cuz, i'd like it if you were more offensive... *snicker*
yeah... i'm gonna write a quick script to add everybody that mails me to that friend group.
"Pissed"?! Now you've offended people with no bladders.
Bastard. Whoops ....
I still don't think you should change yourself just because some twits out there want to get their panties in a bunch and complain about how the guy who made LiveJournal is a bigoted prick.
...i guess this is just an experience sooner or later everyone makes on lj. tho it is your private journal, itmay be cause of the community character lj has, that people will not realise this and causer of the comment feature are invited to judge and post their opinions...
I'd encourage you to look up the definition of private. LJ's are anything but private. One makes a conscience decision on what words to publish for the PUBLIC, for a COMMUNITY. Then, a function to have COMMENTS is tagged on to these words. Can one really be surprised that people have come forward with their opinion on Brad's entry? Should people have *not* commented? Why use LJ then..?
As a now, ex member of the chubby chicks community this just sucks...you are not a God and should be able to post what you want, just like anyone else! Hell half of the role models in Amercia smoke crack, why can't you talk about getting your ass sat on?
This is damn ridiculous and I am sorry you have to deal!
You can't really blame the entire community just because a few people had a problem with what Brad said. Not everyone in Chubbychicks did... infact, most didn't.
It's seriously fucked seeing this happen. I'm sorry people feel a need to find offense in everything, for what it's worth.

... that's what i always say
It's really too bad that people can't make the distinction between LiveJournal the business, and the official business forums (which need to have language and attitudes that are business/user friendly) and a personal journal in which Brad the human being can voice his own personal thoughts and stresses. The only reason this got so blown out of proportion is because Brad is a "public figure" as it were on LJ and people expect him to represent the company all the time. C'mon.. when he posts in all the business journals and does messages for the business.. then he's gotta think about what to say.. but in his own journal?
I say say whatever ya like, Brad. People need to understand you're a human being, and should be free to the same rights and privileges that they are. But I think you need to do what's right for you, and if keeping that stuff private will lower your stress level, then I say go for it.

friends only? yes. offensive group? maybe not...
Brad, I don't think it's necessary to make a special group for offensive stuff. As long as you make offensive stuff friends-only, the situation that came up yesterday - where one person saw something she didn't like, posted to a community about it, and lots of others came over to pile on - can't happen.

It sounds like you need a little note on your LiveJournal (custom style ahoy) saying that the contents of this journal do not necessarily correlate with the views of LiveJournal and do not constitute official policy.
I suppose the Dev and Biz communities could do with a similar thing, since they quite often contain personal opinions and such which do not neccessarily make their way into official policy.

Create yourself an anonymous LJ account...
... so that you can be "bad-ass potty-mouthed unPC Br-- I mean, Mary". =)

Grow some balls... Bad publicity is better than no publicity anyway. Let people get upset!
