Yay Government [May. 31st, 2001|12:32 am]
Brad Fitzpatrick
Gotta love the US Government:
Secondly, with respect to the later generations of lambs, those that showed "a signifigant reduction in birthweight," Knapp discovered that the lambs were all either born dead or so ill that they died in a matter of days. In a study purporting to assess whether radiation might caught health problems in sheep, a neonatal birth rate of 100 percent would seem a rather pertinent details. But the government scientists declined to note it. Instead they apparently carried dead lambs to the scales, weighed them, and wrote up the results as if they believed that birth weight, rather than fatality, was the notable characteristic.
Good book.

So wrong. . .

It's almost hard to comprehend that scientists would be either so stupid, or deliberately misleading. Or both. ;-)

Is that book worth reading, then? I find myself sickly fascinated from that quote, and I'm wondering if I should pick it up. . .
