|Qwest can blow me

You know why I like InterNAP? I call their NOC and a human picks up the phone on the 1st ring and that same human answers my question or fixes my problem. No transferring, no waiting. Oh, and the human's smart.
You know why I hate Qwest? I call and wait on hold for 15-25 minutes because they're always experiencing a "high call volume". That stupid message should say, "We're currently experiencing a high caller to monkey ratio... we'd hire more monkeys but they eat too many bananas."
Oh, I got a new message! "I'm sorry your wait is so long. Your call is very important to us. We'll get to you as soon as possible. Please continue to hold." And in the most corny voice. If I met that person in real life I'd kick their ass.
I wouldn't be on the phone with Qwest now if the 5251 people would have transferred all their accounts into their own names like they were supposed to.
But you know what really irks me? What's the alternative to Qwest for local phone service? Regulated monopolies are just as shitty as unregulated monopolies... same shitty quality & service.
In other news, I've got 7 notable things done today, with a major 8th one in progress. And I'm hungry... gonna make spaghetti soon here, after I get through to this damn place.

qwest can blow me, too
My mother had a Qwest phone. A week after the warranty expired, it stopped working, complaining, "internal battery depleted" or something.
She took it to the phone place. They said that they couldn't just replace the battery, and that she had to buy a new phone.
I'm just waiting for SBC to buy out Verizon... and guess where we'll be again, one big SBC system, granted, the baby bells are still run independantly, but still, there is a big compnay over them all, just litl AT&T... there was WI bell, IL bell, MN bell, bell atlantic, but it was still owned by at&t. I just hope the DoJ comes in and makes SBC break them off again... Why do you think DSL has faltered everywhere, all the baby bells charged enormous prices for rackspace in the COs....
i'm rambling again, and i cant really read all of my previous typing cuz in lynx it's all one big line ;)
Brad, I've had the same experience with InterNAP. Nothing but a pleasurable experience compared to others.
The phone company was so much better before it broke up. And that is a pretty damn scary thing to be saying.
...blame it all on Judge Green. He is the idiot who broke up A T & T and nothing has been the same since. That includes product, billing, service, warranty...EVERYTHING!!!
Quantex (former large computer company in new jersey) makes you sit on hold for 30 minutes. After that amount of time it says, you are on hold for to long, and tells you to call back later, then hangs up.
mmm.. food while on hold...
stupid @home (now shawcable) tech supports.. same thing...
i used to grab the portible phone, because i knew i could be on for like 30 min.. and needed to get food, or goto the bathroom and stuff
I used to live in Pasco, not too far from where you're at. My one great experience was when a bill from Qwest showed up. Mom opened the envelope, wondering what it was...to discover that our phone company had been switched to Qwest without our knowledge. And, it goes without saying, we were on about the shittiest rate plan you can imagine...huge phone bill.
Needless to say, we sure as fuck didn't pay it.

EarthLink: Worse than Qwest.
Earthlink charged us close to $1000 for using a toll-free line that was the ONLY not-busy line that we could use to dial in. And they never told us that it was $4.95 an hour. At least I only used 202 hours of internet that month. Heh heh.
We didn't pay it, either. We contacted the Oregon & California divisions of the BBB and we contacted Peter DeFazio, our state congressman. Really, when you want something done, just call the government.

Qwest would enjoy blowing you, too.
I've got Qwest whipped. I've got a hands-free headset specifically for dealing with Qwest. I spend a whole day getting what I want, but I get what I want. I call many times a day when something goes wrong, and I keep calling back until I get the answer I want to hear. Then that answer happens.
Some of them are assholes. Some of them are nice. Except, you know, when they fail to install telephone service at your residence until a WEEK after they told you they would.
