There's a cat outside my window screaming/crying/whatever. I don't know cats but it doesn't sound happy. Scared the crap out of me until I realized what it was. Aahhhh... it's still doing it and it's still scary. Go away kitty, go home... find food and warmth.|
It's probably a female, and she's probably in heat.
Delilah was in heat a couple of weeks ago and gods, I got out of bed in the middle of the night SEVERAL times to see what the hell was wrong with her; she was yowling like she was being flayed alive.
Either that, or it's cat's fighting.
Or it could be cats mating.
In any case, I sympathize...cats in heat are a particular breed of "disturbing".

ah.. juuuust beat me to it. :)
Cat penises have spikes on them, which works very well as far as getting the female pregnant, but it hurts like hell for female. That could why they are screaming.
