NEX II --- I bought the version that comes bundled with a 256 Compact Flash card
It's perfect... everything I've been wanting for in an mp3 player:
-- works in Windows without gay software (USB external drive)
-- works with Linux (insmod usb-storage, mount, presto!)
-- can just insert compact flash card into my laptop, no USB at all
-- no internal memory ... just compact flash, so I can buy more 256 MB cards and interchange them, or buy a 1 GB IBM MicroDrive if I want a lot of space and only 4 hours of battery life (moving parts)
-- small, sexy.
-- comes with carrying case
Woot.
I've spent about $4,500 today (well, $2,500 and then about 2,300). Yay for having my debit card number memorized! :P But only this last item is really for me. (other crap is bidness stuff)
Now I just have to wait for it to arrive. I can't wait.
