you do between the hours of 4 am and 8:35 am?
What did |
And now, it's 8:38 am and I'm considering a project for the day.
- let the LJ translation team search
- put Gentoo on a spare computer. ("spare" as in, "1 Ghz with 260 GB of disk space")
- made a quick patch for opi
- learned ssh-agent (= rad)
- had coffee
I'm thinking I'll go get that flatscreen I've been wanting forever. (where "that" is defined as "one which I've yet to find since my research always ends prematurely") And then I'll find a mini-case online (or in town?) that has no fans or hard-drive bays and I'll make a super-silent net-boot computer for the other room. All I really want's an X Client.
Or I'll get sucked into LJ work.
Or go back to bed. (no... must resist)

make sure to post pictures...gotta see what you get.
Cure for boredom:
Each night you should have everybody email you a possible "project of the day". It could be something worthwhile, something pointless, something that'll increase the greater good of society, or something that's just fun. All of them have to be non-work related...and all of them must take no more than a few hours to succesfully complete. Then....every day you'd wake up to say maybe.....20 "missions" in your inbox. You'd surely be able to pick ONE that would break the routine and give you something to do.

Between 4am and 8:35am BST I... (in no particular order)
- Made a new version of mIRC-LJ, for some reason
- Read some stuff on USENET
- Started to write a program to index files available on SMB shares and FTP servers on the student accomodation LAN here at my uni.
- Watched the movie "anti-trust" (I ❤ DivX)
- Wrote a patch for LJ which I never submitted. (perhaps another day)
Between 4am and 8:35am PDT, I...
My sleep pattern is off again. *sigh*

Oops... forgot my point.
Why is it that it's so much easier to be productive at night?
2002-05-31 09:10 am (UTC)
Between 4am and 8:35 I was in bed. I woke up around 8....but still didn't get up. Then it occurred to me I should have been in my office by 8. So I dragged myself out of bed and got to the office by 9.
No where near as exciting as your morning.

heh, oh yeah. will do that now. in the mood.
FWIW, I'm quite happy with my Cornea MP703. 17" LCD, dual digital/analog inputs, nice and bright and crisp, dirt cheap. That model doesn't appear to be around anymore, but they have other models, including an 18" analog LCD for under $700...

I'm alive ;p
Been almost half a year since I came to LJ ;p. Getting LCD? I prefer TFT, been saving up these days for 2 of it. TFT rockz.

That screenshot is so obviously forged.
And no, we didn't.
Don't ever reply in my personal journal about LiveJournal again. Only I can talk about LiveJournal in brad
. Go reply in bradfitz
if you want to talk about LJ. Oh, joke's on you ... no posts there. Damn, guess you can't talk about LJ. :P
I'll probably get my account deleted for this, but that screen shot was not forged..I was the one that pointed that out to him, and he decided he wanted to know what happened, and so do I. Why do you say it's forged? Reply in my journal if you don't want to discuss this here...Thank you for your time.
What ISP are you on? Is it the same ISP as anyone else who might have seen this "hack"?

I doubt LiveJournal was hacked, but satisfy my curiosity: what in/about that screenshot is "so obviously forged"? I see nothing that points to it having been forged.
2002-05-31 01:36 pm (UTC)
Because we weren't hacked. ;P
At first I said it though because I was seeing the box-y artifacts around the text, but realized later it was a JPEG, so I have no justification, really.
Maybe somebody fucked with his DNS or proxy server or something.

What about the SS40G
Radiator cooled chipset. I think the only fan is a tiny one on the power supply. It'd make a nice little divx/dvd/mp3/game/web surfer for the living room, too.
And before you start complaining about it's Athlon support, I'm pretty sure there are Intel models in the same/similar case. Oh right, it's right here
