Enty rules! [Sep. 25th, 2002|04:09 am]
Brad Fitzpatrick

I'm having so much fun with Enty.... Here, a tour with pretty pictures:

It kick ass now:

-- screen blanking (don't burn-in my TV)

-- indexing of files for fast access (important on slow, embedded device!)

-- smart tree view (had to write myself, none in Qt, only KDE)

-- help pad showing keys <-> number mappings, and it goes away when you want it to and shows up when you want it to.

-- forks itself on startup to launch remote control daemon, instead of requiring it to be pre-launched

Gotta be the coolest thing I've ever seen.

Wanna buy one? :-)

You could buy the same system I did for $202 and put the software on yourself, or I'd set it all up for you for, say... $300? Hmmmm.... Business opportunity!

I think I'm going to New York in November. Can I play with your midget UI and take notes that I might integrate into my design?

>>screen blanking (don't burn-in my TV)

Does the burn-in only happen on old TV/monitor anyways?

Rear-projection TVs burn in.

Plasma burns in.

LCD doesn't.

DLP doesn't.
