Seattle [Dec. 31st, 2002|09:30 pm]
Brad Fitzpatrick
In Seattle for New Year's.

Going to a Rubik's Cube party shortly.... wear all different colored clothes, then switch throughout the evening so you're wearing all one color by the end. :P

Portand-Seattle

How far is the trip (by car) between Portland and Seattle?

Re: Portand-Seattle

180 miles.... 70 mph speed limit most the way. (thus, 80 mph)

Including the slowness at beginning and ending of the trip, it works out to 2.5 - 3 hours, all things being good.

It's taken up to 6+ hours before, though, when I'm stupid and try to go during rush hour on holidays with traffic accidents.

Re: Portand-Seattle

That’s much shorter than I thought. I was expecting it to be more like 4–5 hours, but this looks about the same as – maybe even shorter than – the trip between New York City and Providence.

The reason I ask is because I may be interning in the northwest this summer, and I definitely want to take some time to explore a little while I’m out there. I am not well-traveled.

Interning where? And where? (company/city)

*blush*

Oh boy, I’m embarrassed telling this to Mr. Brad Fitzpatrick of LiveJournal, but… Microsoft. I assume you know where they’re located. They recruit pretty heavily at Brown (more than any other tech company), and their internship program is pretty sweet

Poor attempt to redeem myself: I’d like to use this as a stepping stone to better places that look favorably on industry internships when hiring college grads, but offer few if any of their own.
