Drove to Seattle. Lots of rain, hard to drive.
Server-racking hell. Why aren't there standards in this fucking industry?

Today:
Make notes for speaking at UW class.
Speak at UW class. (communications 300, introduction to new media)

Anything can be rack mounted with a big enough drill and enough pressure..

Unmounted is another issue, no stripped out screw can withstand the mighty vicegrips!

no stripped out screw can withstand the mighty vicegrips!

Is that a challenge? We've had to drill them out before.

I have always /always/ had the mighty vicegrips come out in the end.. heh Now we have these rack screws that have the usual phillips head,
but they also have a really long common slot, so even if you strip out the phillips, you can always use a common to get them out..

What will people think of next!

Apologies for commenting on your personal, but I would love to give you my heartfelt thanks. I have met so many wonderful people through livejournal, and without you I guess I wouldn't. I spend the largest amount of my 'internet time' on livejournal, tweaking my journal and obsessively refreshing my friends page. Thank you so much for this community, I've met the kind of people I never would have thought existed, and because of that I've seen so many new things and been to so many exciting places. Livejournal has definitely changed me.

Thanks again,
