Brad Fitzpatrick

bought GPS handheld (Garmin Etrex, Part #190-00219-00 Rev. C) and love it. it does so much more than i expected. went with Nick and Dina to the beach, recording the trip, notably the elevation for when Nick and I bike it in a couple weeks. will post a elevation map sometime.

did some geocaching at the beach with Nick and Cole, hiding a little fire broom.

played with some dogs.

came back. fixed bike. biked with nick.

went to dina's grandparent's 60th anniversary party. played with babies. drank wine.

think that's it.

Dude, do you have family in Charlotte? I saw a guy at the grocery today wearing a jersey that had "fitzpatrick" across the back of it, and seeing your user pic now, he could have passed for your brother.

Just an odd set of odd coincidences.

Thats the same model (i think) that my GPS beacon was hooked up to when I drove to your place.. Its a good unit.. Turn on battery saver though, it loves to eat batteries up.

lj meetup

There's an lj meetup throught the meetup site at rocco's pizzaria on burnside(across from Powell's). We would like you or someone from Lj to attend and possibly have tshirts. There are many people interested in attending this meetup. If you and Dina(I already told her) would like to come we'd be happy to meet you.

Anyway, so its tommorrow at 8pm at Rocco's Pizza on Burnside.

Re: lj meetup

It would help to know what t-shirts everyone would like. We have too many styles, sizes and colors to have enough of everything along. If anyone thinks they might want something then have them send an email to sandy@livejournal.com. I will have the shirts ready to go for whoever gets down there. We can sell the shirts for $5.00 off of the prices listed. That is how much we have worked into the price for shipping and handling.

I've become addicted to geocaching and i don't even have a GPS. I've found most of the ones here in the downtown area, on my own.

Theres a micro on the traffic island across from Powell's that I occasionally see people looking for. (I found it)

Anyway yeah, can't wait to get a GPS so I can go out and find the more difficult ones in Washington Park ETC.

I got an Etrex a few weeks ago so i dont get so lost in the outback here... the PC cable and power lead are a great extra. I'm also using a realtime navigation software (http://www.gpstm.com) that is quite useful for when we are trying to locate a mining lease while driving along as the screen on the gps is a bit small.

Have fun geocaching, and look into confluence marking / recording if you're interested in that sort of thing.
