(21:28:58) colefitz88: well something where you can put a # in one cell and at the bottom it will add up that whole cell

Excel is great if you have only one person working on it and keeping the copy updated. If you have two or more people making changes, the information can not be merged. I think that this is his reason that he wants it on the web. He has his fantasy team's data that he needs people to add information to. I think that it would be a great tool for certain situations.

Now he should write a simple web application which allows users to manage one or more fantasy teams and wind up spending the rest of his life running it because thousands of other people accidentally got involved! :)

$10 says he uses Gaim has an Alias set for himself, but not for his brother, and all he did was cut and paste.

I could be wrong.

There was a start-up in San Fran down the street from the Stinking Rose that did just that, about 3 years ago. I can't find the link now, but http://www.google.com/search?q=dhtml+spreadsheet&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&start=10&sa=N
turns up a few examples.

I used to intern at a company that did the same thing. It was supposed to be like MS Office, over the web.
