Review of part vendors [Nov. 29th, 2003|03:33 am]
Brad Fitzpatrick
Radio Shack: pathetic selection, expensive, ubiquitous.
Norvac Electronics: decent to good selection, decent price, ~25 minutes away.
Jameco.com: everything, cheap, have to wait for shipping.

I'm documenting all this more for me than you, so if you're bored reload your friends page and read something else. :-)

It's way too late. I shouldn't've have slept 11+ hours last night... messing up my cycle now.

P.S. I agree with my girlfriend: way too many social gatherings lately... 3 on Thursday and 2 on Friday. Social isolation time indeed.

Digikey is a pretty good source of stuff too.

Have you looked at Digi Key?

They have good prices and selections. But they don't have pretty pictures and you pretty much have to know exactly what you're looking for. They do have a catalog which really helps if you don't know exactly what you're looking for though.

I tried them also, but found their navigation a bit difficult. I'll price compare against them when I'm ready to place my full order and know what I want.

Warn me when you come back out of social hibernation mode; I'll be in the area for a few weeks.

Are you kidding?

I'm following with baited breath, and planning on my own (slightly different project). I'm going much more low key with just a 8x8 LED display (think 8 + 1 8bit shift registers).
