I was reading CERTs and stuff last night and ended up at Linkers and Loaders ... is this a classic?

(I had started out to find out about "Sea Surfing" [csrf.txt] and after reading the above I ended up at the index of phrack by way of "XSS, ,Trust, and Barney - why you can't trust anybody" ... what a culture!)

p.s. about ummm 6 years ago I had to learn VB in 10 days or less (needed an interface to some VRML stuff) and *where am I going?* got to thinking about the old days of assembler ... read up on optimizing VB and, well, just couldn't stop thinking about assembler ... (I had once programmed Z-80 [NEC "Trek"] with ML; back in '72 our top-secret stuff was programmed bit *sigh* by bit *sigh*) ... but I got totally talked out of / dissuaded from that way of thinking.
Soooo ... thanks for this.

I /knew/ there was a reason I laboured to mention phrack:
"Armouring the ELF: Binary encryption on the UNIX platform" has a nice description of ELF format.
