I expressed myself rather poorly in responses to < ahref="http://www.livejournal.com/community/lj_biz/217999.html
">this post</a>. I apologize for that. Before I saw this post, I was going to send you an email with this content, but perhaps staying in-band is more appropriate.
I support (and just clicked the radio button to say I did) your proposal
I made one of the less-than-wonderful posts on a point of semantics because I (possibly mis-)understood how the the word "trust" would be used. I feared that its use, as suggested by jproulx
's change on the userinfo page would result in a misunderstanding similar to the misunderstanding of "friends of" that got you into this hot water to begin with.
What had me afraid, and still does, is that you'll end up in what is essentially a semantic misunderstanding with dumb people over "trust", as you recently did over "friend", because you're not really using quite the intuitive meaning of the word. I've said
more about this elsewhere, if you care.
I only whine because I (think that I) understand what livejournal is and what it can be. It's irritated me to see the abuses of it (both "serial adding" antagonism and the outright spamming) and to see the lack of comprehension in the general population for how hard what you're doing really is, and it's because I think I understand those things that I ended up being a whiny bitch. Not much of an excuse.
