this is my job [Mar. 5th, 2004|04:35 pm]
Brad Fitzpatrick
I don't actually "program" per se nowadays. I arbitrate political crap like:

But aren't I great at it? :P

But I do still get to think of things and tell other people to make them. I guess that's kinda cool, when the monkeys are caffeinated adequately.

sometimes its either your way or the highway, but, it gets things done. if this proposal goes through, ill be happy.

and caffiene does wonders for the monkeys. i am an avid coca-cola drinker myself.

This is a lot of the reason why I'm glad I usually get to the posts before the mass comes in. I can make my comments (if I feel the need) and get out before the crap starts. Then I can just ignore it. Someone always tells me if there is something interesting.

Some of the monkeys tend to throw their own poop around if not properly caffeinated. Fair warning.

Hey Brad. I think you are handling this "issue" in a very professional manner. You rock \m/

I am for your proposed solution. It gives the end user plenty of options to go along with the current Live Journal features for security and privacy.

Keep up the good work!

This'll probably stay screened.

I expressed myself rather poorly in responses to < ahref="http://www.livejournal.com/community/lj_biz/217999.html">this post</a>. I apologize for that. Before I saw this post, I was going to send you an email with this content, but perhaps staying in-band is more appropriate.

I support (and just clicked the radio button to say I did) your proposal.

I made one of the less-than-wonderful posts on a point of semantics because I (possibly mis-)understood how the the word "trust" would be used. I feared that its use, as suggested by jproulx's change on the userinfo page would result in a misunderstanding similar to the misunderstanding of "friends of" that got you into this hot water to begin with.

What had me afraid, and still does, is that you'll end up in what is essentially a semantic misunderstanding with dumb people over "trust", as you recently did over "friend", because you're not really using quite the intuitive meaning of the word. I've said more about this elsewhere, if you care.

I only whine because I (think that I) understand what livejournal is and what it can be. It's irritated me to see the abuses of it (both "serial adding" antagonism and the outright spamming) and to see the lack of comprehension in the general population for how hard what you're doing really is, and it's because I think I understand those things that I ended up being a whiny bitch. Not much of an excuse.

Am I Crazy?

Or was the infamous "Friends Of" title changed to "Read/Trusted By" earlier today in LJ profiles?

I only ask because now it's back to Friends Of and I need to know if I'm losing my mind.
