My parents bought a TT while I was in Germany. They told me that way I wouldn't have to bring home any souvenirs, since they already had their German toy.

Anyway, I just went out for a ride with my mom. She drove first, then I drove, while she coached me on manual transmission. Heh. All my past girlfriends have taught me for maybe a half-hour each, but I got no skillz. Gotta work on that.

Back to work! Been getting a ton done this morning (starting at 5:00). Probably going to want to crash super early tonight. But must resist! I can kill this jet-lag in 2 days... oh yes, oh yes.

i love debian.

had a problem with some machines' run-parts never finishing. dpkg -S ... debianutils. okay, upgrade that. yup, changed, but what?
# zcat /usr/share/doc/debianutils/changelog.gz |head
debianutils (1.16.1) unstable; urgency=medium

* Non-maintainer upload
* Apply patch from Garth Mollett to fix race in the select handling:
on SMP machines the child process may have finished when we hit the select
and we could end up waiting forever. Closes: Bug#114864,#132539
