Linux in cars

With so many new cars having in-dash displays and navigation systems, I've been getting this desire for a new car to put Linux on it, along with a GPRS/1xRTT data link via bluetooth to my phone. And Wifi so when I'm in the garage it syncs music to a RAID 0 of a dozen 512MB USB memory sticks.

Anybody know anything (or URLs) about car nav system hackin'?

Ideally I could flip a switch and switch the display, touchscreen, and speakers between Linux in the trunk and the car's native systems.

I'm probably just dreaming. Prove me wrong?
