WASHINGTON - President Bush offered up a new entry for his catalog of “Bushisms” on Thursday, declaring that his administration will “never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people.”
“Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we,” Bush said. “They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.”
Someone else on my friends list posted that...I laughed so f-ing hard. More proof that our dear president is a moron.
obviously he means we need to think of things they might do to harm us first, so that we can then prepare for it / remove the vulnerability.

thanks mike... ::rolls eyes::
I apologize for intruding on the daily bush bashing, hopefully you'll forgive me nicholas ::rolls em back::
Bush doesn't know what he means, he's attempting to read what someone wrote for him to say...he just gets the words in the wrong order, or makes them up every once in a while is all.

I've seen one or two video clips of him speaking informally to one or two other people. In those cases he actually speaks quickly and confidentally, sounding halfway intelligent. I'm not sure why he ends up sounding so dumb and confused whenever he's doing an official address.
It isn't hard to speak when the ideas come from your own mind. That's just a guess...
I've been in the same room with him. He speaks fine, he's a little corny about things...like your Dad or sumthin...and he does laugh at his own jokes.
That was back when he was Governor.

That's kinda funny. Still, MSNBC are being a bit careless misquoting him out of context in the introductory paragraph. Not only have they rephrased the sentence but still placed it in quotes, they attached it to “his administration” instead of “this country” as I think he intended.
It's interesting what the press can get away with these days.
The phrasing is exactly the same.

The phrasing is the same — exactly.
They turned the sentence around on itself and attached “his administration will” to the front of it. That's clearly twisting what he was saying. If you take what he said literally then he was saying that the US is constantly looking for ways to fuck up the US. What he meant to say was probably more along the lines of the US can think of and counter the ways they are planning to fuck up the US.
Neither of these interpretations say that the Bush administration is out to fuck up America, but their cute little rephrasing and quoting out of context put that spin on it.
Sure, it's near enough what he said, but spin like this is a slippery slope and does little for the respect of the news source. Not that I really respected MSNBC anyway.

Is this the frickin' LJ news page? No.
Is this my work journal? No.
Ok BiG Guy. Here ya go. And up yours.

You didn't delete your journal just for me, did you? Wow, it'd appear so from your deletion time. I'd be flattered if I didn't think it was ridiculous.
Everybody's free to their own opinion. I don't go running into your journal telling you to stop thinking or expressing yourself.
You're welcome back, but I'd suggest perhaps not reading me if it upsets you.

Ba-Ha-Ha-Ha!!! I love it!
It's the LJ equivalent of "I'm gonna hold my breath until I turn blue!"
heh, I may not agree w/ Brad on all his views but it's his friggin journal mate. No one's making you read it.
