Munich [Aug. 26th, 2004|01:09 am]
Brad Fitzpatrick
Got back to Germany from Prague late two nights ago and stayed at a hotel in Munich. Yesterday was spent exploring the city's famous old stuff by tram/s-bahn/u-bahn. Yay Tageskarten! Also went swimming in the Olympic 1972 swimming pool where we played on the diving boards a bunch. (Cole's life revolves around swimming and Eis (ice cream)). Had dinner downtown (Gnocci... so good), then came back to the hotel again.

This morning we did started some laundry before breakfast and that's where we're at now.

The plan is to: shower, get laundry, check out of the hotel, go buy some clothes (heh, more on that later, but think "bavaria"), head to Dachau (very close), and then to Augsburg (also very close) for the wedding which is tomorrow.

We'll spend two nights in Augsburg, then a night in Frankfurt, then we fly back.

I remember Dachau when my family and I took a trip there in 7th grade. It so happened that we had Mrs. Sandoz that year who taught us all about the holocaust from a Jewish perspective. Dachau was such a moving experience I didnt want to hear any more about it (holocaust) and thus did not get along with Sandoz.

We went to Berchtesgaden (Hitler's Eagle's Nest), and many other WWII museums. I am thankful the history has been preserved (as horrible as it was) for future generations to remember.

One of the most beautiful places I've ever been was Hallstatt, AustriaHallstatt

Glad your trip is going well and have a safe one back!
