There's another really cool map program (whose URL I forget) that does a flashlight-like effect where it overlays roads in a circle cented around the mouse cursor.

But have you seen Keyhole? It's not a web app, of course, but it really is mind-blowing. Whenever you're around here come over and I'll give you a demo.

Naah, haven't seen it yet. I hear nothing but cool things about it, though.

I was going to suggest Keyhole, too. It was fun zooming in on random streets and finding people.

Cambridge had crazy resolution!

we've got local maps engine http://www.maps.lt/ that has quite a lot of nice features and nice interface. people don't tell addresses any more, they just send a link with a flag on the map.

for offering that. My Father's family is originally from Basel, which they left in the 1600s, so that was very interesting!

The one feature I haven't seen yet in those map apps is guessing the city in the street address form according to what you're viewing now. It's a small improvement, but it can save time and is intuitive.

Cool! www.map24.com should be extended to go down to that level of detail! Freaky however, I mean, before long, you'll be able to see all the junk in my 'garden' on the net...
