Last day... [Feb. 18th, 2005|09:24 am]
Brad Fitzpatrick
[Current Music |Semisonic - Closing Time]

It's all our last days at the Danga office today.

Junior drives down Sunday.
I drive down Tuesday.
Jesse a week later.
Mahlon starts working from home.
Ryan's already down there.
Sandy's phasing herself out.

Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end....

heh. too corny not to post that. :-) sorry, as I was writing this I was "DINA! What's that corny song about beginnings and ends?" she's like "Uh, the one with finishing your whiskey and beer?" Heh.

Appropriate, because we're going to Gustav's today for lunch.

Closing Time by Semisonic. And yes, I know that off the top of my head. :)

Oh, of course, if I had read your current music I would have seen that you knew that already. Oh well. :)

So is the Data Center moving down with you or is that already done?

Wasn't so much "with" (most) of them anyway... and power problems aside, it's got to be way cheaper to leave it is than get space in SF for it, never mind the issues involved in data center moves. (No real

(I hate trackpads.)

... No really, I've done it on the 50-server scale with a couple of other people, and I'm doing it on the 10k-server scale right now, from four different data centers, to three others, states away in cases, as a member of a cast of thousands. The meetings just to establish task lists seem like they're longer than the rest of my life.

I've found Modest Mouse's "Float On" to be a great exit song. Chuck and I were half-drunk after a night of bar-hopping one night and as we were leaving the last bar that song was finishing up. The "All right" ending of it is particularly great for making a well-spirited exit. Give it a try as you pull out of Portland.

I am just one of LJ users, and I don't know why, but I feel some kind of nostalgia here. (I know this will sounds ridiculous to you, though)
