emacs, X, and middle clicking [Jun. 5th, 2005|02:01 am]

Dear Lazyweb,

I normally run emacs inside screen inside rxvt. When I middle-click I just paste and emacs has no damn clue where I clicked. And I like that.

When I run emacs on X, I want a middle-click to paste at point, without changing my point.

What do I put in my .emacs file?

With love,
Brad

And for modeline GOMF:

(define-key modeline-map 'button2 nil)
(define-key modeline-buffer-id-left-map 'button2 nil)
(define-key modeline-buffer-id-right-map 'button2 nil)
(define-key modeline-minor-mode-map 'button2 nil)
(define-key modeline-modified-map 'button2 nil)
(define-key modeline-narrowed-map 'button2 nil)

George Ohsawa Macrobiotic Foundation?
Greek Orthodox Memorial Foundation?
Gary's openMosix Floppy?

"Did you mean: golf?"

(I'm guesing I should be looking at the fourth hit. You have to do all that to say "I don't want middle-click in the modeline to do anything"?)
