emacs, X, and middle clicking [Jun. 5th, 2005|02:01 am]

Dear Lazyweb,

I normally run emacs inside screen inside rxvt. When I middle-click I just paste and emacs has no damn clue where I clicked. And I like that.

When I run emacs on X, I want a middle-click to paste at point, without changing my point.

What do I put in my .emacs file?

With love,
Brad

I see that our step mom is going to be a speaker at Supernova 2005. I don't know if anybody connected with LJ is familiar with Ourmedia, but one or the other of that project's founders, J.D. Lasica or Marc Canter, will be a speaker too.

I signed up at Ourmedia a couple of months ago and, though the Alpha is cranky as hell (reminding me a bit of the state of LJ when I first stumbled across it four years ago- though LJ is working very nicely, now, thanks), I think it's one of the most interesting things to show up on the Internet in the last couple of years.

Anyway, in case nobody at LJ was aware of the Ourmedia project, (however unlikely that seems, given the close-knit nature of the tech community), I just wanted to mention that it is going to be represented at Supernova, and since at least some of you will undoubtedly be attending the event, I suspect that it could be enlightening to hear what Marc or J.D. has to say.

It would be nice if somebody from LJ could perhaps prod Ourmedia into participating in the OpenID thing, too. (I'm anticipating with great delight the benefits I see resulting from OpenID. It is an excellent idea.)
