Attention to detail [Jun. 11th, 2005|12:20 pm]
Brad Fitzpatrick

If you paste a multi-line address into the single-line google maps address bar, it notices and makes it into one line, comma separated. Nice.

My favorite piece of maps finesse was discovered entirely by accident. Load a map, then hit "=".

It's too big to be a search bar.

That's not an address bar... it's a search bar!

But it's a search bar for addresses (Google Maps), so it's also an address bar.

Try searching for

But google maps still fails to remember the address when you click on the "directions" tab after mapping one of the locations in the default "maps" field. Annoying!

Oddly enough, that works perfectly for me in IE, a little less nicely in Opera (there are extra spaces around the commas), but not at all in Firefox or the Deer Park alpha.

Hrm. I got it to work with IE, but not with Firefox. That's no fun.
