early to rise, .... [Sep. 15th, 2005|09:49 am]

Had a nice 8:15 am foggy bike ride to work this morning.

Just got done with a 9:00 am phone call to Europe and the office here is still empty ... so peaceful.

Even though today is solid/long meetings, all of them seem pretty fun.

I have the opinion, based largely on personal experience but buttressed by this, that Thursday is universal meeting day.

Even if I work from home (which is fine with my boss) every other day of the week, I make a point of being in the office on Thursdays, as I invariably have 3+ conference calls to deal with, and doing so on a phone without a mute button ($CURRENT_EMPLOYER's internal conference call system deals with this... clumsily; *6 is [un]mute, but getting both tones through cleanly is... iffy at best, especially via VoIP) is truly painful.

Maybe it's just me... but I think many business people realize on Monday or Tuesday that they need to have a meeting about Problem X, and then schedule a meeting with "sufficient" notice, which lands, usually, on Thursdays.

Is this just me, or statistically relevant?

I'd say that is all accurate.

I've never had a meeting on a Thursday. I guess I've only ever had four meetings, though. I have a meeting this morning to make five!
