internet --- kinda [Dec. 13th, 2005|05:41 pm]
Brad Fitzpatrick
I now have Internet access from the water heater closet in the garage.... nowhere else. (where I'm posting this now, on the cold floor)

Every room is totally wired, but the wires end in uncapped raw ends, so David's here to help me finish up the wiring.

Is that house sheetrock or lat-and-plaster? I've been wanting to wire my house with cat-5, but drilling into the lat-and-plaster makes it difficult.

this makes me think of the ridiculously bad wiring in houses i work on. we get there before the walls are sheetrocked and find network cables in ridiculous places like bathrooms and closets. i know it's appealing to be able to post on the internet while on the toilet but it's not really necessary.

nobody here seems to know what they're doing.

Network access from the bathroom is what wireless Ethernet is for!

My First post from my new house was made from the floor... carpeted though it was. I had internet before I had furniture... heh

No, I cap rj45 all the time. David came to help because of the sheer amount of work to do. Also had speaker wire and AV setup to do. And planning for future stuff.
