LazyWeb: deinterlacing/telecining DVDs

Dear LazyWeb, (yes, again)

Best mplayer options for DVD playback w/ fast CPUs ?

There seem to be two dozen "pullup"-style video filters, each with lots of options, but what is all your experimental results? Which feels least choppy on mixed formats? (where framerate bounces back and forth between 24000/1001 and 30000/1001)

I'm looking at you, kvance. :-)
