Snakes on a Plane [Aug. 19th, 2006|07:37 pm]

Forgot to mention I saw Snakes on a Plane last night. dina wrote about it and said the same thing I would: the audience made the movie. It started with a guy yelling, before the trailers even started,

And then throughout the bad trailers and bad scenes in the movie, everybody would hiss. Good shit. Also flying rubber snakes from the audience.

Go see it before the audience tames.

I guess taking a shot every time you saw Redbull was part of the SOAP Drinking Game.

I don't think I've ever been to a movie with such.. audience participation. ... Find a theatre that performs Rocky Horror. :)

See, you just have to find a theater where the audience knows this:

Seriously, one of my best movie-going experiences ever. I wrote about it here and here.

I'd been waiting for this one since February. Damn, was it fun.

Haha, last time I was in New York I watched the revival of Rocky Horror in the IFC, twenty years after the last performance there. Looks like there's a replacement!

I am wondering...if the audience will ever tame?
Someone in a review I read mentioned it shares certain traits with the Rocky Horror Picture Show. It has that cultish feel to it that will keep it alive.

I cant say if it will become a late-night staple like RHPS but it certainly could.

At any rate, this movie is destined for something other than obscurity. I just cant figure out what it is headed for. This movie won't die or fade away, that's for sure.

That's awesome. I made the mistake of going to see it in a cineplex in Mountain View. There was maybe 70 people in a cavernous theatre.

That's NOT a mistake. I was probably there. Century 16, Thursday at 10pm? It was awesome.

Ugh. I wish English people were like that. I love Americans and their seemingly endless self esteem.
