Drink [Nov. 4th, 2006|08:23 pm]
Brad Fitzpatrick
After 13 hours of work on a Saturday, I'm ready for a drink.

I can't wait to see how much more fun my emails can get after drinking. I'll do my best to refrain.

I made the Internet work so you can go destroy it.

We all have a purpose.

if it makes you feel any better, I missed the whole thing.

In my minds eye, Livejournal was "alive" continuously.

Did someone drop a spanner into a UPS?

That's what happened at my $employer several months back.

You deserve a drink or five. Or twelve.

You need enough liquor to make you think Frank the Goat is sitting next to you at the bar, trying to eat your pants and then streaking through the streets half-naked because, well, eaten pants.

That is how much liquor you need, Grand Overlord.

You could always recycle the Cyrillic swear words you've been learning into replies to the English language emails you get... :)

Your troubles did make me glad I was the support shift leader overnight on Thursday and Friday nights, not Saturday. :)

Though I doubt you had to call (and don't know if you have a support contract these days).

Excuse me for a stupid question, but this is very important.

Website yoki.ru, citing unnamed sources, claims that "hosting of cyrillic journals is being tranferred to Rostelecom" (a big Russian phone and internet operator). Also they say that this transfer is a real cause of LJ's outage.

Can you comment it? Will any journals be transferred to Russian hosting?

My question maybe seems strange, but if you will answer it publicly (at least here in your LJ), it will save Russian users much confusion.

That's false.

I already answered publicly in lj_ru_support:
