Life Update [Nov. 25th, 2006|06:16 pm]
Brad Fitzpatrick

There's been people in my house for 4 weeks now, ever since I got back from Russia. First it was Dina's friend Tabby, who had just moved to San Francisco and needed to find a job and an apartment, then it was my family for Thanksgiving. Much love to Tabby and my family, but homeboy need a rest.

Last night I went to ioerror's going-away party (he's moving to Austria for ~1 year for an awesome-sounding artist-in-residence job). Jacob decided that if the Japanese won't let white people into their sushi-served-on-naked-girls restaurants (which admittedly probably don't even exist, but us Westerners want to believe they exist), then fuck it ... he'd find his own naked girls to have sushi served atop. And so it was. Complete with one of the Two Knotty Boys, who tied up the girl to the table, and suspended another girl. Jacob, .... most random party ever. Thanks for all the sake. Kick ass in Austria.

And then my family left early today ... something about snow, but probably also because they ran out of home repairs and yardwork to do. Dina's convinced my parents are Cylons and I'm a robot baby.

So now I'm relatively caught up on life, email, bugs, patches, etc, and we've watched way too much TV (Battlestar, Grey's Anatomy, Entourage), and we're looking for something to do.

But here's a little-known secret...

Seriously. Want to take it over? Come invade during Thanksgiving. This shit be vacant. Parking and dinner reservations all yours, yo. You want people to go out with, though? They're all gone.

So, um... a little bored.

Unless he was making shit up, I talked with my brother on Thursday night and heard that at least something was going on there. He lives in the Castro district. He claims to have been going around from home to home with his BF, having one course here, one course there. You're in the wrong part of town, and clearly not traveling with groups of gay men.

I'm in town, nothing to do other than hacking and reading books.

Hey, I'm still here. It's not -completely- empty.

To the Empty Cities of the Pacific North-Middle-West!

Same thing in Seattle. My favorite coffee shop, JoeBar, was closed for two days, and nobody adopted a foreigner for turkey -- thank G-d! So I hacked Amazon Web Services for the purpose of collecting all the info on all the Blu-ray discs available, to choose when I get a PS3 with Blu-ray playback...

I just got caught all the way up on Battlestar Galactica and am so in love with it. I'm fearing the inevitable withdrawal that comes with not being able to watch two episodes a day now, though.

P.S. If your family were Cylons it would explain so much.

Christmas Day is pretty empty too. Very enjoyable.

Ha ha. Would have been nice to know, I would have crashed your place. Certainly better than dinner with the mother-in-law (well, might as well be).

You guys down for brunch or lunch tomorrow? I was expecting to spend most of the long weekend in SF but somehow ended up hanging out in Davis and Santa Rosa for about half of the time.

It only gets better when we all get in the same physical room in a city where none of us live.

Naked Girls and sushi isn't that difficult to do if people are up for it, just have to make sure that the wasabi is well away from the naughty bits.

I think the wait is normally like 7 hours.

Thanks. I'm doing pretty well in Manhattan so far. I'm glad you enjoyed the party.
