-12C (10.4F) is pretty nice. -14C and I start to feel it. -16C (3.2F) and I officially say, "holy shit this is cold."
But this was wearing thin socks, no long underwear, and no sweater. I'll dress better tomorrow. I'd just been overheating on previous days.
Office was pretty cold today, too. I need some thin hackin' gloves.
No plans tonight. Maybe take Mischa to Red Square and hit an electronics store to find him some power cables/adapters so he can stop stealing mine?
шкуры убитых животных нас спасут :)
а вот прошлой зимой было -37С, по официальным данным, а по неофициальным -50С. Но массовой гибули населения зафиксировано не было :)

Wow. How things have changed. The last time I was in Moscow, we didn't go to an electronics store but to a guy standing outside one. I showed him what cables I wanted and he promised that he'd make them and have them for us if we came back the next day.
I'm surprised you can tell the difference between -10, -14, and -16. :)
Usually for me, -10 is "hmm, it's getting cold", -15 is "it's pretty cold outside", and -20 is "let's not go outside".
When it gets to about -30 I try to work from home, heh.

I've got a 15 minute walk to the office, so I have some time to think about "this feels colder than before". And then right when I arrive, there's a big temperature sign at Smolenskaya and on a billboard.
Brad, drink You Russian vodka, and the devil's Russian frost will not be terrible to You :-).
Maybe take Mischa to Red Square
omg be sure to check out all of the silly logo variants
I remember the morning I woke up and heard that it was one degree (f) in central park. I thought they must have been joking but alas they were not. That is COLD.
I find that as long as I have gloves, a hat, and a scarf I'm okay. A sweater is important too, though -- it's all about layering so that there is lots of warm air trapped next to your skin!
One of the things I've come to love about NYC is how super-heated the indoors are in the winter. You walk in with all your layers and end up wearing just a light shirt inside.
Mischa's new 220W adaptor is on Anton's desk, in a SonyEricsson plastic box.
Brad, do you monitor the situation around v_alksnis
is an old Soviet political fart who wants to restrict the freedom of speech in LiveJournal for the Russian users. Today v_alksnis
will be on Russian TV. Today I already had to explain to several people that LJ/6A cannot possibly give the information about LJ users to the Russian government.

I heard about it, but I didn't know it would be on TV.
What channel, and when?

for that you'll need to send a request for acreditation to firstname.lastname@example.org. It would be interesting if you went there...
Tarlith is well known bastard and low educated proletarin from exUSSR. This explains everything - prolrtarian language, lifestyle, etc. The entire LJ is laugh on him. The TV show is promised to be extrimely funny.
Reading this makes me ashamed that I was shivering and complaining when the mercury here dropped to the 20's. Stay warm, Brad!
