iPhone replacement [Nov. 13th, 2007|11:39 pm]

Update to my previous problem: Apple gave me a new iPhone on the spot, no questions asked. It must, indeed, be a common problem.

I asked them to erase my old one and watched them do so.

I came home, inserted new one, and iTunes said, "Do you want to restore this, or set it up as a new iPhone?" Restore. Few minutes... entirely back to how it was.

I wonder if I'll have to do this every couple months of if they'll fix their hardware by then.

While I have, as I implied before, seen one other person complaining of this problem in an Apple Store, I know ~10 iPhone owners personally, and you're the only one I know to have experienced this, nor have I seen it bemoaned in public (at all). So I don't think I'd be all that worried about seeing it again with the new unit.
