Long day [Oct. 15th, 2008|12:42 am]

Woke up at 6:30 am, got ready, picked up erinearl and drove to work. I almost never drive to work, but...

After work there was a memcached hackathon ~5 miles from Google at Sun's campus. So I went to that and met a bunch of people, both people I've met before and people I've only talked to online. And got some hacking done. It was weird working in C again after a year+ of C++.

So back now at ~12:30 am. Long day.
I'm debating going to Seattle again this weekend (or this Friday, actually) for another UW event, this time not for a building's birthday, but they think I'm wonderful. And who could say no to that flattery?
Debates & cooking & voting discussion party tomorrow (er, Wednesday) night at my house, if you didn't get the invite.

I'm disappointed you didn't come up to see our demos in the security lab. :(

We thought we hit them all. :-/

There was that poster downstairs with the locations, but once we were upstairs we weren't sure where to go next. We just wandered around until we stopped hitting stuff and thought we hit the ~5-6 number of items we remembered from the sign.

Heh, I tried to watch the first debate but it was too late and too dull. I'm content now to catch the best bits on YouTube the next morning.

McCain says he's going to bring up Ayers as both Obama and Biden have taunted him about not doing so at the second debate. How is this not walking directly into a trap?

If you do go, say hi to Rick Steves for me. He's my geeky travel guy crush.

FWIW, ather than manually maintaining a changelog, something like
git shortlog lastreleasetag..
will automate most of the work.

$ git shortlog -w60 HEAD~5..HEAD^
ager@google.com (1):
      IDL file merge.

finnur@google.com (1):
Tweaks for the text on the About box (from bug 3360):

klink@chromium.org (1):
Fixes a null pointer bug, and adds null checks around
         potentially dying process and channel.

sgk@google.com (1):
      Add about_credits.html and recognize ssl_error.html
         in its new location.

what page are you on, i don't want to know about ALL 100.

if you do come this weekend, we're planning on having dinner/drinks for henry's brother which should be fun. plus I don't think i'll have to work so I might actually be able to enjoy myself ;)

I'm going to be in SF next week, too. Probably coming in Sunday evening or Monday morning. We should plan something.

What are you all "what what in the butt" about? Sabzi, or me visiting?

I hadn't really mentioned the visit because Thesis was the only thing I was thinking about, but yeah, I'm coming up for my 10 year HS reunion. I'm kinna booked Friday and Saturday, but I've got Sunday wide open, and I'll be there most of Monday, too, so worst case scenario we could do a lunch that day. What say ye?

If Brad DOES come up, maybe you, me, him, and Eli should go get some drinks at Dante's for old times.

Sunday lunch might work, provided a 5-year-old could tag along.

I'm going to Chicago Monday morning, so Sunday evening might work, if I'm done packing, etc.
