yeah, so I *was* working in the CS lab where it's nice and air conditioned, when all the sudden all my windows there froze (I was using my Linux box remotely)... so I thought the network had a temporary glitch, but no..... i come back and it turns out the machine is frozen.... even pressing reset on the machine itself did nothing... had to unplug it and plug it back in. i'm wondering if some hardware is going bad.
