So, I have a plan. LiveJournal users don't like to modify styles just to change some colors. Hell, I don't either... I just tried, it's a pain in the ass. And even if we make some cool default layouts, the colors we pick will still suck. So, I plan to add some more fields to the database for selecting colors (still debating where, but this is irrelevant). The colors you can define will include:
    page_back
    page_text
    page_link
    page_vlink
    page_alink
    page_text_strong
    weak_back
    weak_text
    strong_back
    strong_text
    stronger_back
    stronger_text
Hell, maybe more. Then, style designers will be able to use a directive like: %%color.page_text%% in any variable in any style type...

For developers this means really frickin' easy style creations. (but if you want hard-coded colors, that's still totally possible) For users, this means you will be able to customize all the colors of your journal, on every page of the site. Then, just pick the type of layout you want.
