if any good windows programmer out there knows how to make a global (system-wide) accelerator key (shortcut key) that sends a message to an HWND, let me know.... I've read all this, but it doesn't seem to address how you'd insert an accelerator table into the system's PreTranslateMessage loop. i want LiveJournal to be able to open with Control-Shift-L like ICQ opens with Control-Shift-I, even when the dialog/frame doesn't have the focus. ICQ's window title for editing their keys is labeled "System Shortcuts", which may be a hint (given that ICQ's UI is made by the programmers, not a smart user interface team.....). even if you don't know, please copy/paste this journal entry to programmer friends of yours and have them email me at brad@livejournal.com if they know how. i'd love you forever. :-)
